About the role
The Assistant Manager, R&D (Bakery) plays a vital role in driving innovation and product development at Mewah Group. This full-time position, based in Pulau Indah, Selangor, Malaysia, is responsible for conducting research, testing new recipes, and optimising existing bakery products to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Collaborate with the R&D team to conceptualise and develop new bakery products
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and customer preferences
- Design and execute product testing protocols to evaluate the quality, taste, and viability of new bakery items
- Analyse test results and use the insights to refine and improve product formulations
- Work closely with production and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and food safety standards
- Provide technical support and training to the bakery production team
- Document and maintain detailed records of all R&D activities
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in a similar R&D role within the bakery or food manufacturing industry
- Strong technical skills in product development, food analysis, and sensory evaluation
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting quality assurance tests
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards
- Passion for staying updated on industry trends and innovations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
