Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Procurement will support the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, components, and services. The role involves strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract management, cost analysis, and ensuring that procurement activities align with production goals, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement:
- Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies.
- Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sources.
- Participate in vendor negotiations for pricing, delivery terms, and supply agreements.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers based on capability, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manage supplier performance through regular reviews.
- Coordinate supplier audits in collaboration with the quality team.
Planning & Coordination:
- Work with production planning and inventory teams to align procurement with demand forecasts and production schedules.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to prevent line stoppages or delays.
- Monitor and manage procurement lead times and delivery schedules.
Cost & Risk Management:
- Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) for materials and propose initiatives to optimize procurement spending.
- Track and report cost variances and support corrective actions.
- Identify procurement risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, ISO standards, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procurement transactions, supplier contracts, and performance records.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5–8 years in procurement roles within manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or assistant manager capacity.
- Strategic sourcing and supplier negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
