Job Description Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Demi Chef (Chinese Cuisine) to join our culinary team. The Demi Chef will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in preparing authentic, high-quality Chinese dishes. This role requires knowledge of traditional and modern Chinese cooking techniques, strong kitchen skills, and a commitment to maintaining excellent food standards.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Prepare and cook Chinese dishes with authenticity and consistency.
- Handle mise en place including cutting, marinating, and seasoning ingredients.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure dishes meet the restaurant’s standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
- Monitor food freshness and maintain consistency in flavor.
Kitchen Operations
- Support daily kitchen workflow and station organization.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and storage procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen area, equipment, and utensils.
Menu Support
- Provide input on new Chinese dishes and menu development.
- Experiment with traditional ingredients to enhance taste and presentation.
Teamwork
- Work closely with Head Chef and Sous Chef for smooth operations.
- Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Certification in Culinary Arts or relevant field preferred.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in Chinese cuisine.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Chinese ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques.
- Good knife skills and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Creativity in food presentation and plating.
