Job Descriptions:
- Plan and prepare daily meals according to the dietary needs and health conditions of elderly Chinese residents.
- Cook a variety of Chinese dishes that are nutritious, comforting, and suitable for elderly individuals (e.g., soft textures, low-sodium, diabetic-friendly)
- Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and served on time.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor food inventory and ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Handle food allergies and in tolerances with utmost care and proper documentation.
- Supervise kitchen assistants and ensure all kitchen operations run smoothly.
- Follow standard operating procedures for meal preparation and kitchen hygiene.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a chef or cook, especially in a healthcare or elderly care setting.
- Proficiency in Chinese cooking is added advantage.
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent is a plus
- Understanding of nutritional needs for the elderly
- Familiar with food hygiene and safety guidelines
- Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently
- Passion for caring for elderly patients through good food.
