Job description
- Serve as the main HR contact for retail employees across all stores/boutiques operating in Malaysia.
- Understand business priorities and provide HR strategies that support growth, talent development, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in the hiring of key roles to ensure alignment with business requirements and brand fit.
- Support strategic workforce planning, internal mobility, and succession planning efforts.
- Identify skill gaps and development needs through performance reviews and business goals.
- Work with HODs to create personalized employee development plans.
- Track progress and measure effectiveness of talent development efforts.
- Liaise with agency to ensure timely and accurate submission of employment pass application or renewal.
- Track application status and maintain communication with expatriate to ensure smooth relocation process.
- Provide guidance on employment-related matters and address issues in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of employee relations activities, disputes and outcomes.
- Work with the team to organize employee engagement activities, including team-building events, recognition programs, and other morale-boosting initiatives.
- Support the rollout of local and group-wide HR initiatives and programs.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Profile
- Minimum 4 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HRBP or generalist role.
- Experience in luxury retail, broader retail, hospitality, or lifestyle industries preferred.
- Strong business acumen and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident in dealing with employees at all levels.
Professional requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- Knowledge of Malaysian employment law and HR best practices.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems such as SAP SuccessFactors is an added advantage.
