Job Description
About the role
The Senior Strategy Manager is a pivotal role in helping SEEK define and deliver its long-term vision, strategy and growth ambitions.
As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will be working on critical topics in either Product / Marketplace Strategy or Commercial Strategy, partnering closely with the senior leaders in those functions.
Day-to-day this role entails:
- Leading a significant part of a specific Strategy Centre of Gravity – becoming the ‘go-to’ person on a range of related topics for senior leadership and the broader organisation
- Developing and applying analytical frameworks and principles to investigate business issues, identify solutions and manage the implementation of agreed actions
- Creating situational awareness within the team and broader organisation – strategic metrics, key results, industry trends, competitor analysis
- Communicating defined strategies and its components with simplicity and impact to all levels of the organisation, including senior leadership
- Leading project delivery and process management, effectively managing and mitigating risks
- Collaborating in project teams alongside Product, AI and Commercial stakeholders to design, test and iterate future product or commercial solutions
- Being a vocal advocate for the strategy and providing guidance to execution teams to ensure alignment with the strategy
- Potentially having 1-2 task reports on projects

- The Director of Strategy, Product
- The Director of Strategy, Commercial

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- 5-8 years’ experience working in strategy-related roles, with 3-4 years in a top tier strategy consulting firm.
- Highly developed conceptual reasoning capabilities, analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to break down and frame strategic problems
- Experience in developing business level strategy and breaking this down into objectives, targets and initiatives
- Passion for growth strategy and excellent business acumen, and a track record of having worked and led complex and ambiguous strategic projects
- Track record of results – delivering results through cross functional teams
- Ability to influence and build support for fact-based recommendations with a diverse set of stakeholders
- A high learning orientation and a desire to become a global expert in online marketplace design and operations
- Experience in media, internet or tech industries would be viewed favourably
