About the Role
The Regional Operation Manager will oversee the end-to-end truck operations across Peninsular Malaysia. This includes managing regional distribution hubs, ensuring service consistency, driving network efficiency, and building scalable, customer-focused logistics processes. The role requires strong operational leadership, hands-on execution ability, and the vision to scale up a high-performing transport network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily truck operations across regional hubs and stations, ensuring visibility, efficiency, and service quality.
- Develop SOPs for pickup, sorting, consolidation, and last-mile delivery.
- Monitor SLAs, optimize routes, and reduce cost per drop through effective load and vehicle utilization.
- Manage and coach a regional team, oversee manpower planning, and foster KPI-driven performance.
- Control operational costs, negotiate with vendors, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Drive adoption of TMS, GPS tracking, and digital proof-of-delivery systems.
- Produce operational dashboards, enhance real-time tracking, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Support business development, lead client reviews, and provide operational feasibility input.
- Identify growth opportunities, plan hub expansions, and execute strategic initiatives in line with volume growth.
- Partner with leadership to shape the LTL business model and direction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in transport or logistics operations, with at least 5 years in LTL management.
- Deep understanding of LTL dynamics, delivery routing, network optimization, and transport cost structures.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across internal and external parties.
- Hands-on operator with the ability to manage ground-level issues and scale systems.
- Experience with TMS, route planning software, and transport analytics tools is preferred.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Peninsular Malaysia as part of role oversight.
- Language proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin/Cantonese is advantageous.
Working Conditions:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 am– 6:00 pm/ Saturday 8:30 am– 1:00 pm
- Must be contactable or available on duty during off-hours depending on operational needs.
