Marketing Intern (Social Media & Content Focus)

Location: Kuala Lumpur (Hybrid) | Internship | 3–6 months

We're looking for a creative, curious, and social media–savvy intern to join the marketing team at Colony Coworking Space & Events and Jerry Coworking Space.

You’ll be the face behind the feed, helping us craft content that connects with our audience and keeps our Instagram (and yes, TikTok too) fresh, relevant, and algorithm-friendly.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist in managing our social media accounts, with a strong focus on Instagram and TikTok
• Ideate and create engaging, platform-optimised content, from Reels and carousels to memes, videos, and behind-the-scenes stories
• Stay on top of trends and adapt content formats based on what’s working across each platform
• Work closely with our in-house Content Specialist to execute visuals and videos using Canva, CapCut, and similar tools
• Capture photos and video snippets during events for marketing use
• Write witty, clear, and brand-aligned captions and copy for posts and campaigns
• Track content performance and help brainstorm ideas to increase engagement
• Engage with our community, like replying to comments and DMs, and interacting with relevant accounts to boost visibility
• Support ongoing campaigns and projects across Colony and Jerry’s marketing efforts

Requirements:

• Content creation experience: You already know how to ideate, shoot, and edit content for social media (bonus if you’ve done this for a brand or personal project)
• Own tools: Must have your own laptop and phone with access to Canva, CapCut, or similar editing tools
• Active social media user: Familiar with trends, formats, and what performs well on Instagram and TikTok
• Strong visual eye: You know what looks good, how to frame a shot, and how to make visuals pop
• Writing skills: Able to write short, witty, and engaging captions that reflect brand voice
• Organised and reliable: Able to manage time, hit deadlines, and follow through on tasks
• Takes initiative: You don’t wait to be told what’s trending. You're already experimenting with it
• Open to feedback: Comfortable working under guidance and refining work based on review
• Curious and observant: You enjoy scrolling with purpose, and noticing what brands are doing, what audiences are reacting to, and how content evolves

Job Type: Internship
Contract length: 3 - 6 months

Pay: RM1,000.00 per month
