Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Head of Patent Department to lead and establish our new patent team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and team management, with a proven ability to drive innovation and excellence in intellectual property (IP) practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Oversee the operations of the patent department and provide strategic direction to the team.
Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance working environment.
Patent Drafting and Review:
Lead the drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications to ensure high-quality submissions.
Review and enhance quality assurance processes for patent documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Team Management:
Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to team members on patent law, best practices, and technical skills.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for professional development and growth.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and evaluate patentable inventions and innovations.
Liaise with external counsel and manage relationships with patent offices and other relevant authorities.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure strict compliance with intellectual property laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting the status of patent portfolios, key activities, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, or a related field. .
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent law, with a strong focus on patent drafting, prosecution, and team management.
Demonstrated track record of successfully managing patent portfolios and leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
Language Skills:
Fluent in Mandarin (both written and spoken).
Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation.
In-depth knowledge of international patent laws, practices, and procedures.
