Job Summary:
Responsible to oversee and drive our HR functions, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and fostering a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture. The role also includes responsibilities as HR Manager, overseeing budget processes related to HR activities. This role will report to the CHRO and the local GM of PSS Penang.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR & Business Partnership
o Act as a strategic business partner to the plant management team, developing and implementing HR strategies that support overall business objectives.
o Contribute to regional HR initiatives and align local HR policies with global standards to elevate processes.
- Operations & Compliance
o Ensure all HR policies and practices are fully compliant with Malaysian labor laws.
o Oversee the entire HR budget process, including planning, approval, and monitoring, ensuring all activities are cost-effective.
o Manage relationships with HR service suppliers (e.g., transportation, foreign worker management, hostels) in partnership with the purchasing department to ensure compliant and cost-optimal services.
- Talent & Performance Management
o Lead recruitment and selection by establishing effective channels to attract top talent and build a strong pipeline.
o Drive a pay-for-performance culture through effective appraisal systems and ensure fair, competitive compensation and benefits practices.
o Oversee talent and competence management, collaborating with the global team to execute training and development programs.
o Implement robust succession planning and support the career development of key employees.
- Employee Engagement & Communication
o Develop and lead internal communication initiatives, such as town hall meetings and newsletters, to strengthen organizational culture.
o Drive employee engagement projects aimed at increasing morale and fostering a positive, motivating work environment.
o Perform any additional duties as assigned by superiors.
Job Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience in HR, proven experience as an HR Manager with at least 3 years of experience managing Total HR, with both strategic and operational expertise in manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian labor laws and familiarity with global HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in HR budget planning and financial management.
- Experience with automotive industry standards (IATF, RBA, ISO, etc.) is a significant plus.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage and develop the local HR team, able to set the direction / vision / advise top management and makes decisions.
- A person of high integrity with a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to execute plans effectively.
- Proficiency in English and Malay is required, ability to communicate in Mandarin is a plus.
