We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Western CDP to join our dynamic catering and event company. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for Western cuisine, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to craft exquisite dishes that delight our clients and their guests.
This role involves overseeing the culinary operations for various events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale functions, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
Preferably candidates who are experienced in Fine Dining Restaurants or Hotel backgrounds.
Working Environment: Teaffani Central Kitchen, Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
Working schedule: 6 days/week, Flexible schedule. No Split shifts.
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following;
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Design and curate innovative Western cuisine menus tailored to the specific needs and preferences of our clients, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Western dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence in every plate served.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with event planners and coordinators to seamlessly integrate culinary services into the overall event plan, ensuring timely delivery and service.
- Quality Control: Maintain rigorous standards of hygiene, safety, and food quality, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring all team members are trained to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
- Budget Management: Manage food costs and inventory, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their vision and preferences, providing expert advice and ensuring their expectations are not only met but exceeded.
- Trend Awareness: Stay current with culinary trends and innovations within Western cuisine, continuously seeking ways to enhance and elevate our offerings.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a chef specializing in Western cuisine, preferably in a high-volume catering or event environment.
- Education: Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
- Skills: Strong culinary skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing a team.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and staff.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
