Job Description
Your Role as a Senior Digital Consultant
As a Senior Digital Consultant, you will be at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our global clients. You’ll partner with customers and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to:
Work closely with all project stakeholders to deliver complete solutions that serve the business needs.
Build modern, user-friendly interfaces for insurance apps using Guidewire’s front-end framework, Jutro.
Advocate for customers to adhere to our powerful Digital out-of-the-box (OOTB) product capabilities to drive value and ensure effective adoption while adhering to best practices and platform standards.
This is a high-impact role with real responsibility in remote project implementation. Projects vary widely — from upgrades to full implementations of core systems. Over time, you'll have the opportunity to specialize in different project types, regions, or lines of insurance.
What You’ll Do
Learn and master Jutro, Guidewire Digital design system and front-end framework to become a certified technical consultant and a subject matter expert.
Build new, innovative user interfaces for the insurance industry using Guidewire Jutro.
Collaborate with the customers, UI/UX designers, business analysts, and Guidewire implementation teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Deliver solutions following Guidewire best practices, integrating our products with external applications to support our global customers.
Execute technical testing, refine solutions based on feedback, utilize incidents monitoring tools to communicate issues to and resolve with relevant Guidewire teams and project stakeholders.
Mentor and/or lead junior team members and guide them in developing advanced skills.
Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
What You’ll Bring
Core Skills & Experience
Languages: Fluent business English required; additional languages (e.g., Chinese, Japanese) are a plus.
Technical Knowledge:
Experience with CSS, SASS, and other look-and-feel technologies, automated unit testing using Jest/Enzyme or similar frameworks, exposure to server-side technologies (JSON/RPC, REST).
Ability to write clean, modular, and well-structured code, ensuring that each component is reusable, maintainable, and easy to understand.
Knowledge of unit testing fundamentals or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages is beneficial.
Project Implementation: Exposure in medium to large-scale software implementation or IT consulting projects with the complete software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Problem Solving: A result-driven, and tenacious problem solver with a unique blend of technical aptitude.
Communication: Able to articulate perspectives and support ideas with substantiated reasoning, coupled with intellectual humility.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently, strong desire for continuous learning and contribute to cross-functional teams.
Stakeholder Management: Interested in building genuine relationships with the customers, confident in/capable of influencing project stakeholders in both technical and non-technical teams.
Agile Mindset: Familiarity with Agile approaches and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
Preferred But Not Required
Exposure to Invision, Sketch, or other UX prototyping tools.
Prior work experience in an insurance/financial services company or consulting setting.
Experience with insurance carriers or technology implementation partners.
Proficiency in any Guidewire Cloud products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
5-8 years of software development experience using web technologies.
Highly skilled in JavaScript and React framework – at least 1-2 years of experience with React.
Knowledge of Agile delivery and Scrum practices.
Eligible to work in Malaysia and able to travel occasionally to the US, Europe or within APAC.
