The Seamstress is responsible for repairing uniforms, linen and guests’ clothing in line with Hilton and the hotel policies and procedures.
What will I be doing?
As the Seamstress, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Alter and repair team members’ uniforms and linen.
- Maintain the sewing machine in good working condition and report defects to the Linen Room Supervisor.
- Distribute uniforms at the issuing counter if necessary.
- Repair guests’ clothing.
- Keep uniform / linen room neat and in good order.
- Show the Linen Room Supervisor uniforms that are ready for discarding.
- Be courteous and professional at all times.
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
- Keep you work area clean.
- Adhere by the hotel’s policies and procedures, Hilton code of business conduct, the hotel’s team member handbook.
- The Management reserves the right to make changes to this job description at its sole discretion and without advance notice.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What are we looking for?
A Seamstress serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
- High School Degree.
- At least 1 year of experience in the same position in a 5-star international branded hotel or comparable industry related experience.
- Working experience as a Seamstress in the uniform / linen room.
- Good communication skills.
- Understand clothing materials.
- Creative and possess delicate workmanship.
- Physically fit and have good eyesight.
- Good team player.
- Able to maintain excellent relations with team members.
- Able to work under physical and mental pressure.
