- Patient Care:Residents provide direct patient care under the supervision of attending physicians. This includes performing history and physical examinations, developing assessment and treatment plans, and participating in rounds.
- Medical Procedures:Residents learn and perform a variety of medical procedures, such as suturing, inserting IV lines, and conducting basic diagnostic tests.
- Record Keeping:Residents maintain detailed patient records, including progress notes, admission notes, and discharge summaries.
- Patient Education:Residents educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Collaboration:Residents work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, medical assistant, pharmacists, and clinic assistant, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Research and Learning:Residents participate in research projects and attend seminars and conferences to expand their knowledge and skills.
- Supervision:Senior residents may also be responsible for supervising junior residents and medical students.
- Emergency Care:Residents may be involved in emergency care and may be called upon to attend to patients in emergencies.
