About the Research Unit:
Our advisory services encompass agronomic support for oil palm, rubber, and other plantation crops. This includes on-site visits by our agronomists to provide expert advice, as well as conducting research on agronomic practices, pest and disease management, and other relevant topics to ensure our recommendations are science-based and data-driven. We collect and analyze comprehensive data to inform our advice to clients.
Your Role
We are seeking a meticulous Research Clerk to join our team. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our nursery section, and the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Daily Clerical Tasks:
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and organized records of research data, experiments, samples, and lab supplies. This may involve both physical and digital record-keeping systems.
- Data Entry: Inputting and verifying research data into databases and spreadsheets. Ensuring accuracy and consistency in data management.
- Inventory Management: Tracking nursery supplies, equipment, and other assets. Managing stock levels, ordering supplies as needed, and maintaining inventory records.
- Report Preparation: Assisting with the preparation of reports and documents, potentially including formatting and compiling data.
Administrative Assistance:
- Nursery Support: Assisting with nursery organization and maintenance, potentially including cleaning, preparing equipment, and managing waste disposal according to safety protocols.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least Diploma, preferably in Office Administration/Management, Secretarial Studies, Science-related Diplomas,
- Possess good communication and public relations skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities:
The Research Clerk will play a crucial role supporting the Research Officer and contributing to the smooth operation of our research. Responsibilities will include:
Research and Client Support:
- Data Preparation and Tracking: Collaborating closely with the Research Officer to prepare and organize all necessary data for ongoing and new projects. This includes extracting relevant information from our database, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and maintaining detailed records of all data throughout the year.
- Data Compilation and Reporting: Compiling and analyzing data from research projects
Nursery Administration:
- Nursery Management: Overseeing the general administration of the nursery. This includes maintaining nursery supplies, equipment, and a safe and organized work environment. Assisting with lab safety procedures.
- Data Summary and Filing: Preparing regular summaries of nursery data, archiving research documents, and maintaining a well-organized filing system. This ensures that all information is readily accessible and stored appropriately.
Communication and General Office Support:
- Telephone Management: Answering incoming telephone calls, taking messages, and directing calls to the appropriate personnel. This requires professional communication and the ability to quickly identify who should receive the message.
- General Administrative Support: Assisting with various general administrative tasks, such as photocopying, mailing correspondence, and ordering office supplies.
This role demands a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management software is essential. Experience in a research or laboratory setting is a plus.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily clerical tasks, assisting with data compilation and analysis for research projects, and overseeing the general administration of our nursery while supervising workers and be part of a team. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential. A Diploma is required.
