About the role
As a Product Compliance Executive at Synergy House Furniture Sdn Bhd. you will be responsible for overseeing the compliance processes and procedures to maintain the highest standards of product quality. This full-time position is based in Muar, Johor.
What you'll be doing
Regulatory Monitoring and Reporting:
Stay up-to-date on the latest regulatory changes and trends that impact the company’s products.
Monitor and interpret global, national, and local regulations to ensure products comply with safety, quality, labeling, and environmental standards.
Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and certifications (e.g., CE, FDA, UL) as required by authorities.
Product Lifecycle Compliance:
Work closely with product development and engineering teams to ensure product designs and specifications meet regulatory standards from the early stages.
Review and propose product-related documents, including technical files, test reports, and compliance declarations, to ensure that products meet relevant regulatory requirements.
Support product launch activities by ensuring all compliance documentation is complete and up-to-date.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Assist in identifying potential compliance risks and work with cross-functional teams to develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Maintain records of compliance activities and product certifications for internal and external audits.
Collaboration with External Partners:
Serve as the point of contact for external regulatory bodies, third-party certifying agencies, and testing labs.
Ensures that the lab maintains proper documentation for routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and performance verification, as required by regulatory standards.
Auditing Equipment Procedures:
Audit the lab’s procedures to ensure that equipment is operated according to the correct protocols and that any troubleshooting or repairs are documented in compliance with regulations.
Training and Awareness:
Provide guidance and training to internal teams (e.g., R&D, marketing, sales, and operations) on compliance requirements and product regulations.
Ensure internal stakeholders are aware of any changes to regulatory standards or compliance procedures.
What we're looking for
- Degree in a relevant field such as Quality Assurance, Engineering or Business
- 3-5 years of experience in a product compliance or quality assurance role, preferably in the furniture industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards pertaining to product safety and compliance
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve compliance issues
- Proficient in data analysis and report writing
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining compliance
