As Manager, People & Culture based in our Data Centre in Johor Bahru, you will report to the Associate Director, People & Culture and work closely with various teams and leadership across the Asia Pacific region, making your mark in a number of ways:
- Support to implement HR strategies aligned with corporate goals and Malaysian regulations, ensuring full compliance with local labor laws, employment standards, and workplace safety.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior management locally, providing workforce planning and organizational guidance.
- Oversee and optimize all HR operations, including payroll, onboarding, offboarding, and HRIS management, to ensure seamless and efficient employee experiences.
- Manage end-to-end talent acquisition, employee development, and performance management processes to ensure scalability and a high-performance culture.
Your Day to Day
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies and policies that align with corporate and local business objectives.
- Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and HR best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to enhance employee engagement, retention, and culture-building initiatives, fostering a high-performance work environment.
- Compliance & Labor Law Expertise
- Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with Malaysian labor laws, employment standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date knowledge of Malaysian labor laws and ensure adherence in all aspects of HR, including employment contracts, terminations, and payroll compliance.
- Conduct periodic audits of HR practices to mitigate legal risks and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Support recruitment and selection processes to attract, engage, and retain top talent in Malaysia.
- Partner with hiring managers to support workforce planning and ensure a seamless recruitment experience for candidates.
- Lead employer branding initiatives to enhance the company’s reputation as an employer of choice within the local market.
- People Operations & Process Improvement
- Lead the employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a positive experience for new hires and a smooth, respectful transition for exiting employees.
- Manage onboarding programs, including orientation, training, and cultural integration, to help new employees feel welcomed and prepared for success.
- Implement offboarding processes that include exit interviews, final settlements, knowledge transfer, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements and automation within HR operations, enhancing efficiency and the overall employee experience.
- Manage the full lifecycle of expatriate visa processes, including work permit applications, employment pass renewals, and related documentation.
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll, HRIS management, and administrative tasks, ensuring seamless day-to-day functioning.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture by developing and implementing employee engagement programs.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing concerns, managing grievances, and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, cultivating a welcoming environment for all employees.
Requirements
- A seasoned HR professional with expertise in talent management, compliance, people operations, and employee relations.
- Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR role in Malaysia.
- Strong interpersonal and cultural awareness skills, with the ability to handle complex employee relations matters.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
