About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Food & Beverage Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Lounge Manager/ess is responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of the lounge and assist in formulating long-term strategies. The Lounge Manager/ess reports to the Director of Food & Beverage / Assistant Director of Food & Beverage.
As Lounge Manager/ess, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Prepare capital expenditures for the operation
Attend the daily F&B briefing and other related F&B meetings
Maintain good communication with the Kitchen operations, F&B section heads and other relative department
Always maintain operation equipment in good condition
Prepare monthly manager report and debriefing notes as necessary
Manage the average food and beverage check and promote sales
Always have good knowledge of monthly budgeted target in revenue and profit
Oversee administration of weekly duty schedules and controls vacation leaves
Ensure compliance with hotel’s rules and regulations
Oversee and/or conduct training for colleagues as well as implement regular training programmes
Attend to guest requests and complaints, efficiently and courteously
Ensure that the standards of food and beverage service are maintained
Promote and consistently try to improve food and beverage sales
Ensure that all colleagues are familiar with the contents of the menus, and its compositions
Actively support the hotel’s team culture, and help to achieve the hotel’s vision, goals and values
As Lounge Manager/ess, we expect from you:
A University/ Hotel School or College Graduate in Hotel Management
Minimum 6 years of hotel experience
Good knowledge of customer service and guest contact skills
Handling guest / colleague complaints and dealing with them tactfully
Strong leadership skills
Knowledge of communication and training skills
