Job Summary
The Lab Assistant supports daily laboratory operations by preparing materials, conducting routine tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and standard chemicals according to established procedures.
- Assist chemists and laboratory personnel in performing experiments and routine analyses.
- Collect, label, and handle samples properly to maintain sample integrity.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functioning.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization, including proper waste disposal.
- Record and report experimental data accurately in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
- Monitor inventory of chemicals, glassware, and consumables, and notify supervisors of shortages.
- Follow all laboratory safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of hazardous materials.
- Support chemist/ staff with administrative and technical tasks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum SPM or Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related field.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques, chemical handling, and safety protocols.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
