Position: Accounts & Finance Manager
Location: Off Jalan Bukit Kemuning, Shah Alam
Job Summary
This position oversees the overall goals and objectives of the Accounts and Finance Department. The successful candidate will manage daily operations, ensure financial accuracy, and provide strategic financial guidance to management. The role also includes extensive monthly reporting to Japan HQ and preparation of consolidated reports for the Southeast Asia Group of Companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Accounting Operations
- Oversee daily accounting operations including:
- Monthly/year-end closing processes
- Accounts receivable/payable
- General ledger, cash receipts, and payroll
- Treasury functions, budgeting, and cash forecasting
- Capital assets, fixed asset and debt management
- Prepare and review financial reports and statements for management and HQ (Japan).
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of multiple monthly reports as per Japan HQ timelines.
- Manage and analyze WIP (Work in Progress) jobs and billings.
- Review salary disbursements and payables.
- Provide cash flow planning and financing recommendations.
Compliance, Auditing & Process Improvement
- Lead successful continuation of the accounting outsourcing project initiated by the regional HQ in Singapore.
- Ensure compliance with audit, tax, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare annual business plans and 5-year financial plans.
- Coordinate external audits and tax filings.
- Improve internal systems and processes; enforce proper accounting methods.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and internal control policies.
Strategic Reporting & Corporate Support
- Prepare detailed Board of Directors (BOD) reports and compile reports for the SEA Group of companies.
- Liaise with Company Secretary on compliance with Companies Act.
- Provide financial advice on asset management, budgeting, and corporate positioning.
- Oversee accounting software systems and ensure accurate data management.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- Proven experience managing an accounting team (at least 2 executives).
- Strong background in tax computation, audit preparation, and corporate financial reporting.
- Experience with project or cost accounting (e.g., P&L by job order, WIP tracking, cost variance).
- Familiarity with working with regional or multinational group companies.
- Proficient in MS Office and accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting regulations, and data analysis.
- Fluent in English. Proficiency in Mandarin or Japanese is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership and supervisory ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to meet tight and multiple deadlines.
Remuneration packages:
Basic: RM 4,100 – RM 8,000
Fixed monthly Transport Allowance: RM1100
Fixed monthly total Allowance: RM800
A monthly RM50 attendance allowance is paid for perfect attendance.
