1. Process guest check-in, assigning rooms and activating room keys
2. Providing guests with information about the hostel and its activities
3. Give guests information and directions regarding property and local areas of interest
4. Answer, respond to and process all guest calls, messages, questions or concerns
5. Process daily sales and inventory management report.
6. Complete basic cashier and bookkeeping responsibilities
7. Co-ordinate with Housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in and report any guest concerns
8. Process check-out and resolving any disputed charges
9. Process payments and room charges, as well as cashing guests' personal and traveller's cheques
10. Confirm reservations and cancellations, running daily reports on the number of arrivals and departures
11. Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the management
