Job Summary:
The Energy Manager (Building Maintenance) is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring energy efficiency strategies and sustainability initiatives within building projects. This role involves analyzing energy usage, identifying energy-saving opportunities, optimizing energy performance, and ensuring compliance with energy-related regulations and certifications. The Energy Manager will also work closely with project and maintenance teams to integrate energy management best practices into all aspects of building operations. We are looking for a candidate who is available to start immediately.
Job Description:
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of energy management programs and strategies for building maintenance and project sites.
- Monitor and analyze energy consumption patterns to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Recommend and implement energy-saving initiatives across electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and service providers to integrate sustainable energy solutions into project planning and operations.
- Develop and maintain energy performance dashboards and energy reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with relevant energy efficiency laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, Green Building Index, etc.).
- Conduct energy audits and site inspections to assess performance and propose energy conservation measures.
- Support the procurement and selection of energy-efficient technologies and equipment.
- Provide training and awareness programs to staff and contractors on energy-saving practices.
- Track ROI on energy efficiency projects and assist in preparing business cases for proposed initiatives.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical supervisors to coordinate efforts in reducing overall energy consumption.
- Participate in regular project meetings to provide updates on energy performance and discuss improvement plans.
- Maintain documentation and records for energy compliance audits and certifications.
- Assist the Project Manager in budgeting for energy management initiatives and forecasting energy cost savings.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager, Project Director, or Management.
- Handle any relevant energy-related tasks as needed to support the overall efficiency of the building projects.
Job Requirement:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in energy management, building services, or a related field.
- Degree or Diploma in Energy Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Certification as a Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM) by Suruhanjaya Tenaga is an advantage.
- Required language(s): English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, lighting, automation) and energy-saving technologies.
- Familiar with local energy regulations, sustainability frameworks, and green building certifications.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a project-based environment.
- Strong communication skills to engage with internal teams, vendors, and authorities.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement in energy efficiency.
- Willing to travel or be based at project sites as required.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
