Key Responsibilities
- Order & Stock Management:
- Ensure all customer orders are submitted before 5:00 PM for timely invoice processing (cut-off time: 6:00 PM).
- Verify stock balance before generating any invoices.
- Conduct daily quality checks on stock.
- Record any damaged, rotten, or unsellable items in the job card and notify the Pickstock Team immediately.
- Failure to report item issues via job card releases the Pickstock Supervisor from any responsibility for returns.
- Customer Service & Returns:
- Ensure customers provide a Return Note for all returned goods.
- All Return Notes must be signed by the delivery driver.
- Distribute the updated price list to customers every Monday.
- Reprocess orders for items that are rejected or out of stock.
- Quotations & Payment Follow-up:
- For quotations older than 1 week, obtain approval from the Sales Manager.
- For tenders or multiple quotations, approval is required from both the Sales Manager and the Company Director.
- Contact customers to follow up on outstanding payments.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings with the Manager to discuss outstanding payments and customer account status.
- Work with the Manager to set payment timelines and sign off on debtor follow-up actions.
- Reporting & Relationship Building:
- Print the Debtor Statement from the Accounts Department before the 15th of every month.
- Fax the statement to customers and record the faxed date, time, and responsible staff member’s name.
- Maintain excellent customer service by visiting client outlets monthly to strengthen relationships.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
- Achieve sales performance targets and ensure the company consistently meets or exceeds monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Track, analyse, and communicate key quantitative indicators and business trends in partner relationships.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to ensure performance targets are met.
- Recruit, train, and develop sales team members.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to sales staff.
- Promote a competitive and collaborative team environment
- Work closely with the marketing and operations teams to align sales and promotional strategies, ensuring smooth execution and customer satisfaction.
- Integrate digital tools and platforms to streamline sales processes.
- Utilize CRM systems to manage customer interactions and sales data.
- Manage the sales budget, ensuring cost-effective sales activities and maximizing return on investment.
- Monitor competitors, market trends, and customer feedback to stay ahead of industry shifts.
- Adjust sales strategies based on competitive landscape and emerging opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to increase brand visibility and strengthen industry partnerships
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Sales & marketing or related fields.
- Past successful experience as a sales representative or sales manager,
- Strong leadership qualities, result-oriented, dynamic, self-driven, and motivated to work with and through people of various levels.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and solid ability to influence effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Solid ability to carry out the sales process from planning to completion.
- Excellent business insight and industry expertise.
- Excellent guidance and human resources management skills.
