We are seeking for a skilled and versatile Maintenance to join our team, My Aged Care & MAC Ambulance
Job Description:
- Maintenance of the facilities and vehicles of our nursing home and ambulance service.
- The ideal candidate will ensure that all technical and maintenance needs are met to create a safe, comfortable, and fully functional environment for residents, staff, and ambulance operations.
1. Facility Maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance of residents' rooms, common areas, and restrooms.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with plumbing, electrical systems, and fixtures.
- Ensure air conditioning systems are operational, clean, and serviced regularly.
2. Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electronic and electrical devices, including medical equipment, lighting systems, and appliances.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized equipment repairs when necessary.
- Vehicle Upkeep:
Maintain and service ambulances and other facility vehicles to ensure reliability and safety.
- Perform regular checks on vehicle systems, including brakes, engines, and emergency equipment.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with vehicle maintenance schedules.
- General Repairs:
Address minor carpentry, painting, and other general repair needs within the facility.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts for quick resolution of issues.
- Safety Compliance:
Ensure all repairs and maintenance are conducted in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Monitor fire safety systems and perform regular checks on emergency lighting and alarms.
3. Other Technical Duties:
- Assist with setup and maintenance of IT and communication systems as needed.
- Support the nursing home and ambulance team in technical projects or emergency situations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a technician or in a similar maintenance role.
- Technical knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and basic carpentry.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and repairs would be an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification or vocational training in technical fields (e.g., electrical, mechanical, HVAC) is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license (required) would be an added advantage
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site at the nursing home and ambulance facility.
- May involve lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- On-call availability for urgent repairs and emergencies.
