IT Helpdesk (L1) – Oil & Gas Industry

About the Role
We are seeking a Level 1 IT Helpdesk Support Engineer to join our team and provide frontline IT support to CPOC (Oil & Gas client). This role will act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, ensuring smooth operations across desktop, applications, network, and telecommunications services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st level IT support & troubleshooting (notebooks, desktops, printers, applications, servers, telecommunications, and networks).
- Act as the centralized contact point for call logging, incident tracking, service requests, and escalation to business application teams or third-party vendors.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting for system setup, installation, configuration, and usage.
- Escalate issues beyond helpdesk scope to CPOC’s internal IT Department or outsourced vendors.
- Update and monitor incidents via Service Desk Tool until closure.
- Submit weekly, monthly, and yearly SLA performance & statistical reports.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes for service desk operations.
- Participate in regular review meetings with client stakeholders to improve service delivery.
- Support IT facility & asset management (inventory tracking and maintenance).
- Monitor service levels to ensure no SLA breaches.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or related field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in IT support / helpdesk roles (fresh graduates with internship experience may also apply).
- Strong knowledge in Windows OS, desktop applications, basic networking & hardware troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework is an advantage.
- Good communication skills with ability to support users at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple incidents, requests, and escalations efficiently.
