Job Scope – Halal & Quality Control (QC) Assistant
- Ensure all food preparation and handling at the outlet strictly follows Halal guidelines in accordance with JAKIM or relevant authority standards.
- Monitor and verify the usage of Halal-certified ingredients and suppliers only.
- Assist in the Halal certification process and liaise with JAKIM or relevant authorities.
- Maintain and update Halal certification documents and records.
- Conduct regular outlet visits and inspections to ensure ongoing Halal compliance.
- Report any non-compliance or potential Halal issues immediately to management and assist in corrective actions.
- Provide Halal Awareness Training, Support and conduct training on food safety and hygiene awareness for outlet staff.
- Stay updated with the latest Halal regulations, guidelines, and practices.
- Monitor food safety practices to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and internal hygiene standards.
- Ensure all food handling, kitchen, and storage areas meet sanitation and hygiene requirements.
- Conduct daily quality checks on food products, packaging, storage temperature, and cleanliness.
- Monitor and enforce proper personal hygiene practices among food handlers and kitchen crew.
- Maintain accurate records including incoming raw materials and their Halal certificates, daily QC checklists, cleaning and sanitation logs, temperature monitoring logs (chillers, freezers, etc.), pest control service reports, Water filter maintenance schedules
- Assist in external audits or inspections as required.
- Monitor deep cleaning activities at the outlet.
- Act as a liaison between HQ QA/Halal team and outlet team for quality and compliance updates.
- Monitor pest control services and ensure they are conducted on schedule with updated documentation.
- Assist in preparation for internal audits and ensure outlet is audit-ready, support the Halal Executive during audits.
- Perform any ad-hoc tasks assigned byd the General Manager or QA Department.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Halal Assurance System (HAS)
- Familiar with **HACCP / GMP / MESTI is an added advantage
- Able to work independently and handle compliance documentation
- Good communication and observation skills
- Must be willing to travel frequently to outlets for field-based responsibilities.
- 1-2 years of experience in Halal operations or food industry is an advantage

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
