Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and create a welcoming environment will be key to enhancing the customer experience in our grocery store.
Duties
- Process customer transactions accurately using the POS system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding products and services, providing knowledgeable recommendations.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance sales.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and assist with stocking shelves as needed.
- Supervise junior staff members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and improve overall customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with customers, addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as this can enhance customer interactions.
- A proactive attitude towards upselling and promoting store products is a plus.
