As a Subcontracts Engineer at Technip Energies, you will play a crucial role in managing subcontracting activities in compliance with the company’s Values, Policies & Operating Procedures. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, evaluating their capabilities, and ensuring timely and cost-effective placement of subcontracted services. Your expertise in contract management, negotiation, and subcontractor performance evaluation will contribute to the successful execution of our projects across the geographical regions. Job’s main challenge could include:
- Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary technical/commercial/governance/ESG considerations, and the complex business issues in process plant and offshore structures.
- Single focal point and holds responsibility for the highly complex packages such as SMPEI (Steel, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation), Modular Fabrication and Offshore T&I.
- As and when required, additional ad hoc tasks are expected.

Main Accountabilities:
- Participate in subcontracting activities throughout the proposal and project lifecycle, from pre-qualification to close-out, ensuring adherence to project budget, specifications and timelines;
- Identify potential subcontractors, assess their qualifications, and maintain a reliable and up-to date subcontractor database;
- Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and assists the Subcontracts Lead to define the subcontracting strategies.
- Responsible for the coordination, sourcing, award, and administration of the various types of construction subcontracts in the discipline of Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Fabrication, T&I etc.
- Prepare and issue Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents to subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project scopes and specifications;
- Conduct bid evaluation in coordination with technical team, lead commercial evaluation, negotiate price and qualifications; recommend suitable subcontractors and obtains approval for the subcontract awards.
- Administer subcontracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and project-specific terms.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, including schedule adherence, quality of work, and budget compliance.
- Mitigate potential risks and resolve claims/disputes with subcontractors, in collaboration with project teams and legal department.
- Maintain accurate subcontracting documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve subcontracting processes, enhance subcontractors’ performance, and optimize costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to subcontracting and procurement.
About you:
- Accredited bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying/Construction Management, Engineering, Science, Law or Business;
- Proven track record (minimum 5 years) in large infrastructure, landmark building or Energy/Petrochemical projects as contract management or quantity surveying professional.
- Proficiency in industry-specific subcontracting standards, legal requirements, and best practices.
- Experience in contract development, negotiation, and administration, with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to compliance.
- A highly analytical mindset with good problem-solving abilities, able to navigate complex project challenges and drive effective solutions.
- Accountable, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines, without compromising on quality.
- Curious, goals oriented, and solutions focused.
- Superb writing and reading skills.

- Active member of RISM, RICS, CIOB or AACEi.
- Field experience for process plant and modularization.
- Availability to be relocated to any jobsite upon request.
