Position: Team Leader (Miri Training Center)
Are you a dynamic and driven individual with a passion for leadership and training? We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Miri Center. As the leader of the center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the Training Center, reporting directly to the Director, Training & Operations.
Job Function:
As the Team Leader/Trainer, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities relating to Training & Operations at the Miri Center. Your primary focus will be on maintaining high training standards, ensuring safety compliance to international standards, excellent maintenance of facilities and equipment, optimizing resource utilization, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Achieve performance targets based on key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the company.
- Drive cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of equipment and facility upkeep.
- Develop and lead a positive, capable, and high-performing team while ensuring optimum resource utilization.
- Ensure that training content, materials, and delivery meet the highest quality standards, and obtain/maintain relevant accreditations.
- Periodically deliver high-quality and comprehensive sea survival training programs, ensuring delegate safety and preparedness.
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with HSE regulations and best practices.
- Supervise, monitor, and motivate staff, fostering a productive and engaged team culture.
- Achieve goals outlined in the Annual Gantt chart and align staff development plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with accreditation bodies and ensure compliance with the latest training requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, vendors, and partners.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of a Diploma in a related field with at least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader/Manager in operations, managing/supervising a team.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Training Head or Senior Trainer with multiple accreditations (OPITO, STCW, GWO, etc.)
- Certified Training Professional (CTP), OPITO Competence Assessor, and OPITO Internal Verifier
- Competent in delivering basic-level safety training such as BOSIET, HUET, etc.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills and effective communication both in written and verbal forms.
- Proficient in computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
- Willingness to take on other responsibilities assigned by the Manager from time to time.
