Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven and motivated Sales Executive to join our team in Penang. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and managing key customer relationships. This role involves direct sales, market development, and ensuring operational excellence in sales and distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Development
- Identify and establish new business opportunities in the Penang region.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Actively pursue new customer accounts and expand distribution coverage.
2. Sales & Distribution
- Achieve assigned monthly and annual sales targets.
- Drive a company van to service assigned routes and deliver products to customers.
- Ensure product availability, placement, and visibility in all assigned outlets.
- Collaborate with distributors and wholesalers to strengthen and optimize the distribution network.
3. Customer & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and decision-makers.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide after-sales support in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and coordinate with the accounts department for submission.
4. Product Knowledge & Training
- Stay well-informed about product features, benefits, pricing, and promotional activities.
- Conduct training sessions for retailers and partners to improve product knowledge and boost sales performance.
5. Reporting & Sales Analysis
- Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly sales reports, highlighting achievements, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Analyze sales performance data to develop actionable strategies for growth and profitability.
6. Compliance & Operational Excellence
- Ensure all sales and marketing activities are conducted in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Keep updated with changes in tobacco-related legislation in Malaysia.
- Maintain the van/truck in safe working condition and ensure proper handling and safety of products during transportation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in FMCG or tobacco industry.
- Valid driving license and ability to operate a van (GDL).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and achieve sales targets.
- Familiarity with the Penang market is an added advantage.
