As Packaging Label Specialist, you will play a key role to ensuring food products comply with local, regional, and international labelling regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve labels to meet food labelling legislation (ingredients, allergens, nutrition info, origin, claims, etc.).
- Stay updated on changes in food labelling regulations across relevant markets.
- Work with product development team and customer to create compliant, market-ready labels.
- Ensure that all claims are substantiated and legal.
- Verify ingredient listings, QUID (Quantitative Ingredient Declarations), and allergen declarations are correctly displayed.
- Ensure nutritional information is accurate and formatted correctly.
- Assist in adapting labels for multiple markets (languages, local claims rules, etc.).
- Approve final artwork for packaging, including front-of-pack, back-of-pack, and side panels.
- Upload and approve artwork in Tetrapak system and work on packaging forecast
- Work on packaging cost saving project
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, Regulatory Affairs, or any related field.
- Min 2 years of experience in food labelling, packaging development, or regulatory affairs preferred.
- Familiarity with Malaysian and international food labelling laws (e.g., FDA, EU Regulation 1169/2011, Codex).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Problem solving, analytical & critical thinking, collaboration & teamwork
- Able to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or similar design software is a bonus
