We are currently seeking a Pipeline Engineer (Offshore / Subsea Pipeline Engineering) to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
About The Job
- Understand the technical data and discipline work instructions
- Identify personnel development path and training needs
- Assist with annual appraisals as per company’s annual Human Resource policy.
- Follow project management instructions to ensure completion of project is in accordance with project requirements, relevant laws, regulations and codes.
- Reviews job scope and provides estimates, where necessary for activity completion.
- Prepares detailed schedules for applicable engineering activities.
- Reviews and checks applicable project specifications.
- Develops and analyses engineering solutions to specific job requirements.
- Prepares and checks equipment/material specifications / data sheets.
- Prepares and checks calculations, where necessary.
- Provides technical bid evaluations input.
- Liaises with other disciplines for applicable engineering interfaces.
- Reviews and approves all relevant data.
- Participates in engineering co-ordination / progress meetings, and ensures corrective actions are taken when necessary.
- Participates in safety and design review meeting, where necessary.
Job Scope:
The job holder must have proven:
- Strong technical and problem solving skills
- High degree of initiative and motivation combined with ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop good client relationship (preferable).
About You
Qualifications & Experience:
- Engineering degree qualified – preferably Pipeline / Mechanical / Civil Engineering
- A minimum of 3years experience in offshore / subsea pipeline engineering (FEED / detailed design) in the oil and gas industry and should have executed 2 pipeline projects according to LRFD design (DNV-OS-F101) as pipeline engineer
- Experience and technical knowledge in HPHT global buckling and walking design and deep water pipeline engineering (Preferable)
- Hands-on experience in pipeline design software – DNV-OS-F-101 spreadsheet, AGA, Stablelines, Offpipe, Orcaflex, Sage profile, Autopipe, Fatfree and Abaqus / Ansys, and Mathcad and Excel
- Experience in pipeline design – pipeline design basis, wall thickness design, on-bottom stability design, coating selection, cathodic protection design, global buckling and walking analysis, free span and on-bottom roughness analysis, crossing design, shore approach design, riser & expansion spool design and installation analysis
- Exposure to clad and piggy back / bundle pipelines, and onshore pipelines (preferable)
- Experience in reviewing pipeline field layout, approaches, alignment, riser / spool GA, and other pipeline drawings
- Experience in pipeline installation engineering, procurement support and installation supervision (preferable)
- Familiar with pipeline design codes – ASME, API, DNV, ISO etc.
- Familiar with project management activities and experience of working in a consultancy environment.

- Resolves any inter-discipline problems associated with the project involved.
- Understate project allocated resources, ensuring compliance to budget and schedule
- Must be able to liaise with other project personnel of various cultures and ethnicities.
