Job Overview:
The Ocean Freight Procurement Executive plays a key role in securing competitive freight rates, managing vessel space bookings, and supporting seamless ocean freight operations. This position involves working closely with carriers, overseas agents, and internal teams to optimize freight costs and ensure service reliability for both import and export shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and secure competitive ocean freight rates with carriers and agents globally.
- Manage vessel space bookings and allocations to support customer service and operational needs.
- Coordinate closely with internal departments, overseas offices, and vendors to ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Monitor and report on monthly freight activity, including costs, volumes, and carrier performance.
- Ensure full compliance with shipping documentation standards and INCOTERMS.
- Maintain and update freight rate databases for accurate pricing and quotation support.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in ocean procurement.
- Provide support for tender pricing, rate analysis, and client quotations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in ocean freight procurement, logistics, or freight forwarding.
- Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS, international shipping practices, and rate structures.
- Experience in rate negotiation, carrier liaison, and global freight procurement.
