Job Summary
The Market Development Representative (MDR) will be responsible for generating new business through outbound calls and targeted emails to potential clients. The MDR qualifies prospective customers through targeted questions about their business strategy, then leverages this information to align and promote the company’s solutions.
This position spends approximately 80% of the time on the phone prospecting new clients. Market Development Representatives will receive hands-on training with an emphasis on strategic selling and researching targeted accounts. This role provides valuable experience in the fast-growing digital solutions sector.
This is an individual contributor position reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to prospects within targeted industry segments, offering tailored solutions to address and improve business processes.
- Schedule appointments between prospects and Account Executives across various market segments (SMB, Mid-Market, Enterprise).
- Use CRM systems strategically to record prospect information and identify further opportunities in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop email and LinkedIn campaigns to increase awareness and engagement.
Minimum Requirements
- Prior experience in telemarketing, inside sales, telesales, or customer service is highly preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Confident and persuasive phone manner with the ability to build trust quickly.
- Comfortable using CRM platforms, Excel/Google Sheets, and virtual meeting tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Familiarity with or interest in digital transformation and SaaS products.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
