The Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can improve production systems, drive efficiency, ensure safety and quality standards, and manage a diverse team of supervisors, operators, and support staff.
- Manage all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, P&L, retention, and compliance.
- Oversee and manage CNC machining operations, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Manage activities of several departments/sections, including production operations, safety, planning and scheduling, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and facility and equipment maintenance.
- Direct the manufacturing and engineering areas to meet plant objectives and goals.
- Establish operational objectives and weekly production schedules.
- Meet with managers to analyze and correct problems and to ensure budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met.
- Provide technical leadership in the manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Design and implement process improvements throughout the plant.
- Oversee implementation of operations schedules and staffing requirements within established goals for quality, timeliness, and volume.
- Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and improve staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
- Enforce health and safety protocols in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience as a factory leader.
- 5+ years of previous management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, lean principles, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of process/production principles.
- Ability to plan, organize, motivate, and evaluate assigned resources.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally.
- Proficient in the use of MS and mainframe applications.
- Advanced people skills: ability to evaluate, coach and motivate employees
