About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Manager of Operational Excellence to lead strategic process improvement initiatives within our industrial operations. You will champion the development and execution of a company-wide operational excellence framework to drive performance, reduce waste, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
This position demands deep expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, hands-on leadership in cross-functional settings, and a proven ability to align operations with business goals through analytics and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an operational excellence framework to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives that embed Lean and Six Sigma into daily processes.
- Analyze operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and drive structured improvements.
- Deliver training and facilitate workshops on Lean tools and continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor project milestones and report outcomes to senior leadership with actionable recommendations.
- Partner with departmental heads to align process improvement with strategic business objectives.
- Define performance metrics and KPIs to measure initiative success and productivity gains.
- Research and incorporate innovative industry trends and technologies to improve operational outcomes.
- Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and process ownership across teams.
Core Technical & Professional Skills Required
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt preferred)
- Expertise in operational excellence frameworks, root cause analysis, and value stream mapping
- Strategic leadership with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Familiarity with industrial safety programs and training development
- Analytical, data-driven problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience in process improvement or operational excellence
- At least 4 years in a managerial role in oil & gas, midstream, or complex chemical plant
- Proven success in implementing measurable improvement initiatives
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be a Sarawakian citizen
