Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive legal specialist to support our legal team from our Kuala Lumpur office. The successful candidate will assist our legal team with legal advisory and and contract management, including legal and compliance research, contract review/ drafting, company secretary matters, and daily operations.
Please note that this is an in-house role. You will be engaged under a service agreement that is managed by the respective department directly. It will be a 1-year temporary assignment.
In this Role, you’ll get to:
- Provide legal support for corporate governance, business operations, including assisting with company registration changes, qualification applications, daily operational contract reviews.
- Conduct compliance assessments, draft, negotiate, and finalize terms and conditions, as well as commercial contracts for various products targeting the Southeast Asian market, and Oceania.
- Assist in conducting research across SEA, Oceania and/or other commonwealth nations
- Undertake other tasks assigned by the legal team.
What you'll Need to Succeed:
- Holds a Law Degree (LLB Hons) and has been called to the Malaysian bar or other common wealth jurisdictions.
- 3 – 5 years of post qualifications experience, including private legal practice as well as prior in house counsel experience. Past experience with a digital commerce, or tech sector is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Malaysian and/or common wealth legal systems and procedures. Knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
