We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable professional to oversee the integrated management system for ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ensure full factory and operational compliance with regulatory, safety, and licensing requirements, and manage all legal documentation and liaison with government agencies. A degree in law is highly recommended due to the legal nature of many responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrated Management System (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001):
- Serve as the Management Representative for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Maintain, monitor, and improve the integrated management system (IMS).
- Coordinate internal and external audits; ensure non-conformities are addressed.
- Lead awareness and training programs related to IMS.
- Conduct regular management reviews and reporting on IMS performance.
Compliance – Licensing, Tools, Procedures, and Safety:
- Ensure factory operations meet all relevant local and international compliance requirements.
- Oversee all factory licenses and renewals (e.g., DOE, BOMBA, DOSH, MIDA, etc.).
- Ensure all tools and machinery have valid certifications and are calibrated/maintained as required.
- Monitor procedural compliance across departments in line with SOPs and regulatory expectations.
- Ensure safety standards (OSH) are implemented, practiced, and regularly audited.
Government & Regulatory Liaison:
- Liaise with government agencies and statutory bodies to secure necessary approvals, permits, and renewals.
- Maintain and organize all statutory filings, documents, and reports.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and advise management accordingly.
Legal Documentation & Advisory:
- Draft, review, and manage all company legal documents including contracts, tenancy agreements, NDAs, court case documents and service agreements.
- Provide legal insight and risk assessment on business operations, transactions, and disputes.
- Represent or support the company in legal proceedings when necessary.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) – highly recommended.
- Additional qualifications or training in Business and/or Management Systems is an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial compliance role is recommended.
- Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian regulatory and legal landscape.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate across multiple departments.
