The Impact You’ll Make
Specifically in this role, you will be part of a team responsible for monitoring and assessing global inventory risk. As financial analyst supporting Global Operations, you'll also be responsible for recurring tasks that directly support our business partner’s abilities to run the business. The financial analyst is expected to proactively seek information, solve problems, and communicate complex topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, with the appropriate level of supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Perform financial forecasting, consolidation, reporting, and operational metrics tracking in support of financial cycles: Quarterly Commit/Forecast Reviews (QXR), Balance Sheet Review (BSR) and Annual Operating Planning (AOP).
- Manage quarter-end close processes including variance analysis and actuals vs. forecast reporting of inventory ensuring timeliness and accuracy while meeting stringent deadlines.
- Run various weekly inventory reports in support of monthly close process, including posting journal entries as required.
- Ensure compliance with SOX 404 internal controls related to global inventory and compile documentation to support requests from internal and external auditors.
- Be able to perform SOX walkthroughs with internal and external audit auditors as well as rectify any identified gaps and improvement needs.
- Identify and lead business process improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in other projects or assignments as requested. Adequately identify and assess inventory business risks. Be able to provide documentation in a clear, concise, and timely manner consistent with project milestones.
- Provide support to the business partners who are principally located in Livermore, CA, Tualatin, OR and Penang, MY.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or business-related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree or equivalent certification (MBA, CPA, CIA, CFA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) with 6+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, dashboards, and data visualization.
- Attention to details and demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain business partner relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload; effective multi-tasking skills are vital.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal.
- Very strong, accurate accounting skills with attention to details.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to create detailed reconciliations, including complete analysis under rigorous deadlines.
- Self-motivated, can work well both independently and with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of internal controls, the COSO internal control framework, SOX 404 requirements, US GAAP, and the Institute of Internal Auditors’ International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
- Prior experience within technology, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills.
- SAP and Business Objects experience is highly desirable or demonstrable strong systems skills.
- Experience in business intelligence (BI) technologies, tools, and concepts.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse, cross-functional, and international teams including occasional flexible schedules to accommodate time zones.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
