Pre-Opening Phase
- Assist in the planning and implementation of room service standards and procedures.
- Participate in the setup of pantry areas, service stations, and equipment inventory.
- Support recruitment, training, and onboarding of in-room dining team members.
- Coordinate menu testing, service simulations, and team familiarization prior to opening.
Operational Responsibilities
- Supervise the room service operation to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Review daily guest requests and special arrangements related to in-room dining.
- Maintain accuracy in order taking, billing, and guest preferences.
- Ensure cleanliness and readiness of room service pantries, trolleys, and equipment.
- Perform service when required, especially during peak hours or team shortages.
- Follow up on guest feedback and resolve issues efficiently.
Team Supervision & Coordination
- Conduct daily briefings and assign responsibilities to team members.
- Monitor grooming, hygiene, and service conduct in line with hotel standards.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen, stewarding, and housekeeping teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure that stock levels are maintained and requisitions are submitted in a timely manner.
Reporting & Administration
- Assist in preparing shift reports, breakage logs, and order summaries.
- Ensure accurate documentation of mini bar postings (if applicable).
- Enforce safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices in all service areas.
Requirements:
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory F&B service role, preferably with exposure to in-room dining.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and guest-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage a small, focused team.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic inventory practices.
- Flexibility to work shifts, overnight duties, weekends, and public holidays.
- Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
