Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Manager at IMAS is responsible for ensuring that the school’s buildings, grounds, and infrastructure are safe, clean, well-maintained, and conducive to a positive learning environment. This role includes managing day-to-day maintenance operations, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and coordinating repairs and improvement projects across the campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the upkeep of all school facilities including classrooms, administrative offices, laboratories, playgrounds, washrooms, and other common areas.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Supervise and manage the school’s maintenance and custodial team; delegate tasks and monitor performance.
- Ensure the campus is clean, secure, and presentable at all times, especially before school hours and during school events.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors for outsourced maintenance or repair work.
- Maintain records of inspections, safety drills, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with local safety, fire, and health regulations and support school readiness for inspections and audits.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
- Monitor facility-related budgets, propose improvements, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Support event setups, school renovations, classroom relocations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in facilities or maintenance management, preferably in an educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC).
- Ability to lead a team and manage contractors effectively.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and school facility standards.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic or Malay is an advantage.
- Physically fit and willing to respond to on-site needs and emergencies.

Pay: RM3,159.29 - RM8,339.54 per month
