ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Ledger & Reconciliation
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts; ensure accurate journal entries and monthly reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and adjustments.
Fixed Assets & Provisions
- Maintain fixed asset register, ensuring correct depreciation and reporting.
- Handle month-end provisions and accruals, ensuring accurate expense recognition.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Perform variance analysis and support internal and external reporting needs.
Bank, Balance Sheet & Intercompany Reconciliation
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare intercompany invoices and coordinate intercompany account reconciliation.
Payroll, Forex & Tax
- Process payroll journal entries in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Post foreign currency transactions and reconcile forex gains/losses.
- Support corporate tax, SST, and withholding tax compliance; liaise with tax agents.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Assist in audits and provide documentation to auditors as required.
Process Improvement & Support
- Participate in improving financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
- Support budgeting and forecasting by providing historical data and analysis.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests from management or HQ.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant working experience in accounting or reporting.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with financial software/systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and able to manage deadlines.
- A proactive learner with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Required language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia.
