Job Description:
The Role: EHS Intern
As an EHS Intern, you will support the EHS Engineer in executing both routine and ad-hoc environmental, health, and safety activities. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and help you fulfill your academic requirements while contributing meaningfully to the team.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in day-to-day EHS operations and administrative tasks.
- Support the implementation of site Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs.
- Help ensure internal performance metric reports are accurate and submitted on time.
- Participate in EHS assessments such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Ergonomic Assessments, and more.
- Assist in the execution of the Industrial Hygiene Program, including SDS management, labeling, signage, chemical inventory, and monitoring.
- Support the implementation of the Site Emergency Response Plan.
- Participate in internal and external EHS inspections, audits, and Gemba walks.
- Coordinate and organize EHS promotional activities such as campaigns, talks, and roadshows.
- Assist in conducting EHS-related training for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Help manage and monitor EHS modules within the ETQ system.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management.
What We Seek:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Good communication skills in both Malay and English, written and verbal.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, accountability, and appreciation for workforce diversity.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative; able to plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Results-driven, persistent, and confident in taking on challenges.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
- Prior exposure to EHS-related projects or coursework.
- Familiarity with EHS management systems or tools.
- Passion for promoting a safe and sustainable workplace.
