Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Installation & Cabling Technician to join our technical team. The role involves carrying out cabling work and installation of security and networking systems (CCTV, alarm, access control, Wi-Fi, and related products) for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The technician will ensure neat and safe installations, including hacking, drilling, conduit piping, and finishing work, while delivering quality service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cabling work (Cat 6, fiber, power cables) at customer sites including houses, shops, and factories.
- Install security and networking systems such as CCTV, alarm systems, access control, Wi-Fi networking, and related devices.
- Carry out site preparation including hacking, drilling, and conduit PVC piping for cable routing.
- Neatly plaster and patch back hacked areas to ensure proper finishing.
- Install and loop power points as required for system installation.
- Ensure proper labeling, testing, and verification of all cabling and system connections.
- Handle tools, equipment, and materials with care, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Work closely with the team leader/supervisor to complete projects on time and according to standards.
- Follow company procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Provide professional support and communicate clearly with customers on installation-related matters.
Requirements
- Minimum SPM/Technical Certificate in Electrical/Electronic/IT or related field.
- Experience in cabling, wiring, and system installation preferred.
- Knowledge of basic electrical work (looping power points).
- Skilled in hacking, drilling, conduit PVC piping, and plastering/finishing work.
- Able to read basic site drawings and follow wiring instructions.
- Physically fit and able to handle installation tools and tasks.
- Team player with good attitude, responsibility, and willingness to learn.
- Possess GDL/Car driving license is an added advantage.
