IT Business Analyst

As a business analyst you are required to work as a professional who evaluates a business to establish the workings of its systems, procedures, and operations. You will be involved in analyzing the structure of the business, its processes and determining areas in which technology or alternative solutions can add value. You will work together with system analysts, who also act as a link between.
Technology has advanced in recent years, and this has come in handy to help both system and business analysts apply the same to transform, evaluate, and solve business challenges. As part of executing software development projects, the business analyst participates in the following project-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis & Elicitation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and understand project goals and technical needs. Conduct detailed analysis and document functional and technical requirements.
- API Integration: Define and document API specifications, including input/output parameters, endpoints, and integration workflows. Liaise with developers to ensure API solutions meet business and technical requirements.
- Test and validate APIs to ensure proper functionality and integration.
- User Story Creation: Write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria to guide development teams. Break down complex business needs into actionable deliverables. Ensure all user stories align with Agile methodologies and project timelines.
- Collaboration and Communication: Act as a bridge between business and technical teams to facilitate smooth communication. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and timelines.
- Testing and Validation:Support Quality Assurance (QA) teams in validating solutions against requirements. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and address any gaps identified.
Prerequisites
- Experience in Business Analysis.
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of APIs and integration processes (REST, SOAP, etc.).
- Proficient in creating and documenting user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management platforms.
- Preferred Experience:Hands-on experience in API testing using tools like Postman or Swagger.
- Background in software development or technical project management is a plus.
