The Team
The Delivery and Operations team is made up of a Program Manager, four business analysts, and a software architect. The Business Analyst will also work closely with the AI Product Managers, Engineers and Data Scientists that make up one of several AI product delivery teams, forming a cross-functional delivery team. Teams follow agile delivery practices, and the Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role in optimising the delivery of AI product within AI and Platform Services.
Other important stakeholders for the Business Analyst include front-end delivery teams we partner with, and the data and analytics teams.
You could also partner with other teams/functions at SEEK including Strategy, Sales and Service, People & Culture, Finance, Go-to-Market, Security, Architecture, Data Services, Enterprise Applications, Service/Incident Management, Infrastructure and technology Engineering Teams in Hirer, Candidate and Platform domains across APAC.
Job Description
The Role
As a Business Analyst, your primary focus will be on delivering detailed and accurate business analysis to support initiative objectives. You will be responsible for clearly documenting requirements, facilitating effective communication with stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for process improvements that align with business goals.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, AI product managers, and data scientists, you will ensure a shared understanding and alignment throughout the initiative. Your role will also involve supporting delivery, mitigating risks, and ensuring the smooth implementation of new systems or processes, ultimately contributing to the success of initiative and business outcomes.
Reporting to the program manager you will be a foundational member of the new Delivery and Operations function within AI and Platform Services. The new team serves dual purposes: driving
delivery excellence across AI initiatives while managing critical operational elements including R&D investments, cost management, and budget oversight for the department. You will work closely with one or more AI product teams, delivering high value AI product with cutting edge technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish initiative scope, objectives, and deliverables, gathering and documenting business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyse and prioritise requirements, ensuring traceability and alignment with business value and objectives.
- Develop and document current and future state business processes to support business transformation initiatives.
- Assist in solution design and evaluate proposed solutions to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Contribute to iteration planning, backlog refinement, and progress tracking to ensure timely and effective delivery of user stories.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with cross-functional teams to enhance communication, alignment, and decision-making among stakeholders.
- Identify and assess risks associated with initiatives, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Support change management processes to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new systems or processes.
- Contribute to developing test cases and support testing to ensure solutions meet requirements and quality standards.
- Participate in iteration reviews and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement in project delivery and team performance.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Commercial experience in a Business Analyst role or equivalent, with expertise in conducting detailed business analysis and documenting complex requirements.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies, iteration planning, backlog refinement, and progress tracking.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across different teams and functions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to propose innovative solutions and process improvements.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, SQL) and business process modelling techniques.
- Understanding of change management processes and ability to support change initiatives.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in using advanced data analytics platforms and techniques for strategic insights.
- Prior experience working in online marketplace businesses.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in Software Development/Engineering.
