- Ensure a safe working place for Maintenance & Engineering (M & E) personnel and that safety standards are met in accordance with company policy, State and Federal regulations.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and other manuals and documents.
- Plan and coordinate the daily and weekly operation of the M & E Department.
- Work closely with the engineers/chargeman/technicians to ensure daily and weekly task are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Work closely with other departments (Production/Packing/Compounding/etc.) to ensure tasks are completed as planned.
- Promote cost-effective solutions amongst department personnel.
- Assist and provide guidance to engineers/chargeman/technician to resolve mechanical and electrical related issues.
- Assist Manager in developing short to mid-term M & E plans and executing major maintenance overhauls and outages.
- Understand the knowledge, skills, and abilities of each employee in order to train and provide guidance and inspiration through leadership and teamwork
- Ensure proper tools availability in order to improve the maintenance efficiency.
- Review deficiencies noted during corrective maintenance and properly channel the issues to respective PIC.
- Developing and executing plan of major maintenance overhauls and outages.
- Manage and monitor the quality standard of work by the contractors.
- Maintain and advise on the use and disposition of stock items and surplus items.
- Ensure adherence to safety, health and environment matters which related to the job scope and workplace as required by the company.
- Performing other duties or projects as assigned by management.
