Position Summary:
- Manage strategic and transformation projects and technology implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify, document, analyse, challenge internal & external customer requirements (if required), to ensure the project meets business needs / strategic aims.
- Undertake detailed project planning & documentation (defining project deliverables, success criteria, benefits management, dependencies, change control, risk management) including escalating risks and issues as required.
- Ensure Transformation objectives and deadlines are met in line with defined Project charter.
- Ensure compliant with project governance and standards as stipulated in the PMO Governance Framework.
- Communicate the roles and responsibilities defined in the project organization structure.
- Resolution of issues and mitigation of risks without compromising the timeline.
- Track benefit outcomes and update the Steering Committee.
Primary Skills:
- At least 10 years of experience in managing IT projects and system implementation / enhancement, with at least 5 full lifecycle of system implementation.
- Technical project management skills, preferably with experience in managing transformation projects related to Core Insurance system (AS400), insurance products launch, Insurance Point-of-Sales systems (POS), Agent/Customer/Claim Portal, Corporate Websites and Data Lake.
- Experience in managing different types of project related to infra, security, cloud and digitization will be an added advantage.
- Priority will be given to candidates with experience or domain expertise in GI/Life insurance products, Digital, big data, analytics, AI, infra and cloud.
- Experience in managing at least 5 full-time team members, excluding the implementation vendor.
- Familiarity with Bank Negara Malaysia’s Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) guidelines, ensuring compliance and effective risk controls in technology initiatives.
- Experience in driving and managing RFP/RFQ end to end process will be added advantage. E.g. to work closely with cross-functional team to prepare RFP/RFQ pack, evaluating vendor proposals, overseeing the selection process, and vendor onboarding.
- Experience in managing onshore and offshore vendor in full lifecycle of system implementation.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and strategic alignment with organizational objectives will be an added advantage
- Practical knowledge in project management methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, and Kanban.
- Advisory skills including ability to analyse, trouble-shoot, support, challenge and advise other project and program managers.
- Interpersonal skills and relationship management, including ability to engage, communicate with, influence and negotiate with senior management and stakeholders Team management.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Communication skills, i.e. verbal, written and in presentations.
