About the Role
We are actively seeking a Tendering Manager to be placed with one of our clients — a regional leader in engineering solutions within the Data Center segment. This role will report directly to the Vice President (Data Center Segment) and will lead the tendering team in developing and submitting high-quality, competitive bids that align with project specifications and company objectives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving strategic bid submissions, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting project acquisition efforts across major infrastructure and M&E projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the tendering team to ensure timely, accurate, and competitive bid submissions.
- Manage the end-to-end tendering process, from opportunity identification to final submission.
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to formulate comprehensive bid strategies.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g. project managers, quantity surveyors, and engineers) to compile cost estimates, technical write-ups, and all required documentation.
- Ensure all tenders comply with client requirements, industry regulations, and internal standards.
- Identify potential risks in tender proposals and propose suitable mitigation strategies.
- Support negotiation of contract terms with clients and subcontractors during the bidding phase.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key clients, vendors, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Track tender performance KPIs and continuously improve the bid process to increase win rates.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor strategies, and construction industry developments.
Working Arrangement
- Required to meet clients on-site, attend job site walkthroughs, and participate in trade shows or industry events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil & Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tendering role within Main Builder or M&E Services environments.
- Strong knowledge of tendering procedures, contract law, and construction project workflows.
- Demonstrated ability in leading teams, managing deadlines, and making sound strategic decisions.
- Proficient in cost analysis, bid planning, and technical document preparation.
- Mandarin proficiency is required due to frequent engagement with China-based suppliers, contractors, and end users.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
