Job Description
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) with strong technical expertise in home appliance components, including motors, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), wire harnesses, and power supply units (PSUs). This role is responsible for ensuring supplier quality, driving root cause analysis, and implementing robust quality systems to support high-performance, reliable products.
Responsibilities
- Component Quality Oversight: Manage and monitor the quality of motors, PCBA, wire harnesses, and PSUs from suppliers, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Supplier Audits & Qualification: Conduct supplier audits (process, system, and product) and support supplier qualification and onboarding.
- Failure Analysis & Diagnostics: Lead root cause analysis for component failures using tools such as:
- Motors: Oscilloscopes, vibration analyzers, torque testers, and thermal imaging.
- PCBA: ICT (In-Circuit Testing), FCT (Functional Circuit Testing), X-ray inspection, AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), and boundary scan.
- Wire Harnesses: Continuity testers, Hi-Pot testers, crimp height gauges, and pull force testers.
- PSUs: Load testers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal chambers.
- Corrective & Preventive Actions: Drive 8D, 5-Why, and FMEA processes to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Quality Metrics & Reporting: Track supplier performance using KPIs such as PPM, yield, and defect trends. Report findings and improvement plans regularly.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with suppliers to implement Poka-Yoke, control plans, and SPC (Statistical Process Control) to improve process capability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to align quality expectations and resolve technical issues.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3–7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in the home appliance or consumer electronics industry.
- Strong understanding of motor control systems, PCB design and testing, cable assembly standards, and PSU safety/compliance.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic and measurement tools for electronic and electromechanical components.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant quality standards.
- Proficient in quality tools: 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and DOE.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% to supplier and manufacturing sites.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin, to support collaboration with China-based suppliers.
